– I’ve been working hard to get new information on the case. I have now come to the point where I have applied to the Readmission Commission. This was done through my attorneys Kaja de Vibe Malling and Benedict de Vibe, Iversen adds The online newspaper.
Iversen was convicted of trying to extort between NOK 6 million and NOK 20 million from Røkke between November 2017 and January 2018. He denies having done anything criminal.
Iversen filed the petition just days before Christmas and is expected to take 8-9 months to process.
Prosecutor Kirsti Guttormsen issued the indictment against Iversen.
– Attempting to reopen the case is the right of every convict, including Jan Erik Iversen. This will be handled by the Readmission Commission in the usual way, he says.
Lawyer John Christian Elden confirms to Nettavisen that he is still representing Røkke.
– Røkke has no comment on the request to reopen the case. He had no claim and no legal representation. This is a case between Iversen and the Oslo police. Røkke is a citizen with a duty to testify and will of course respond to the Readmission Commission if there are any questions. So far they haven’t had it, he writes to Nettavisen.
