Jan Eijsermans, one of the singers of Veul Gère, will exchange his microphone for a staff and a stitch this coming carnival. On the eleventh of the eleventh, Eijsermans was appointed Prince John the Third of Kruikenstad (Tilburg).
‘Un lekker delleke’, ‘Wa drèkte aon?’ and ‘My neighbor’s Gròzzie’. These are some carnival squatters from carnival association Veul Gère from Tilburg. Singer Jan Eijsermans will sing these songs less often during the carnival group’s performances this season. He was appointed Prince John the Third on Saturday evening at the Heuvel in Tilburg.
Nevertheless, the new prince does not want to miss the Veul Gère concerts in Poppodium 013 on January 12 and 13. “I said that immediately, I have to be there. So that weekend I have no obligations as a prince.” He also tries to attend performances where possible for the rest of the carnival season.
The prince was presented together with his adjutant Rob, the Council of Eleven, the bodyguards and Hofkapel de Sleutelsollers. Together they look forward to carnival. “It is a short season, so we are going for maximum celebration. Enjoyment and letting things go should be of paramount importance,” said the new prince.
“We are going to enjoy the visits to the associations and the official occasions. But I also think it is nice to reach the younger associations and find a way there. We want to celebrate the party with everyone,” adds Adjutant Rob.
