entertainment">Jan has had a passion for the plastic stones since he can remember. “I always got LEGO for birthdays and Sinterklaas. That has never really gone away, ”he says. That is slightly different with Lola. “I never played with Lego before,” she confesses.
entertainment">That changed when they got into a relationship and Jan brought the things into their house. “My mom sometimes asks if I’m not too old, because it says” 7-12 years “on the box. But you never have enough of two things: LEGO and money to buy LEGO ”, says Jan with a laugh.
Friendship
entertainment">Jan saw the message about LEGO Masters on Facebook. He immediately wanted to join Lola, but the couple had divorced in the meantime. “I had to think about it,” says Lola. “But on the other hand, we know each other so well, we just need a look,” she concluded. “It has made our relationship very different. Partly because of LEGO Masters, we now have a close friendship, ”says Jan.
entertainment">The duo has some tips for people who want to work with the plastic blocks at home. “Photograph things and then recreate them,” says Jan. “And give each other assignments, play LEGO Masters at home,” Lola adds.
entertainment">Jan and Lola were the first LEGO Masters to win 25,000 euros and a trip to Denmark to visit LEGO. Jan has been dreaming of working there for years, he says. “Even if I can just sweep the corridors.” Lola hopes to start a coaching practice in the future in which LEGO can play a role. “But first I’m going to build a Disney castle with ease.”
