Jamie Lee Curtis stands up for Karol G in GQ Magazine cover photo controversy

Jamie Lee Curtis is living the idea that she is, in fact, all of us! The Oscar-winning actress defended Karol G in her public pronouncement of her GQ Magazine’s cover photo.

Karol G, who recently released her latest album, “Mañana Será Bonito,” took to Instagram to call out the famed magazine for allegedly photoshopping his face and body for the cover photo.

Earlier this week, Karol G slammed GQ Mexico for apparently editing her face too much in the magazine’s recent issue.

In a statement she uploaded on her Instagram account, Karol admitted that the image of her on the cover “does not represent” her.

“My face doesn’t look like that, my body doesn’t look like that and I feel very happy and comfortable with how I look naturally,” she added.

Karol G remained humble in her scathing post, even saying that she appreciated the opportunity that she was considered for GQ’s Global Creativity Awards. However, the move of the magazine to face tune her face and body upset her.

The singer also pointed out that despite overseeing the process, GQ did not do anything to rectify the said changes, noting that she did not need all those changes to look good.

“It’s disrespectful to me. It’s to the women that every day we wake up looking to feel comfortable with ourselves despite society’s stereotypes,” she further pointed out.

As of this writing, GQ Magazine has not yet responded to the allegations.

Meanwhile, an industry figure known for her detestation of beauty stereotypes has backed Karol G.

Jamie Lee Curtis Express Support For Karol G Amid Photo Manipulation Issue

In a post on her own Instagram account, Curtis posted the manipulated cover photo of Karol G, along with the singer’s statement.

Curtis did not mince her words on her take on the issue. She even praised Karol G for bringing awareness to the same issue she has been concerned about for a long time.

“We are human beings. We are not AI and this genocide against what is naturally beautiful is alarming and needs to be talked about,” Curtis wroteciting Justine Bateman and Andie McDowell for also fighting the same fight.” I’m very encouraged that a younger person is joining the chorus of disapproval. The cosmeceutical industrial complex wants you to look in the mirror and hate yourself and then buy their bullshit.”

Curtis has since slammed the industry standard set for women to look aesthetically pleasing using cosmetic procedures or even photo manipulation to look as such.
