Jamie Foxx Apologizes for Anti-Semitic Remarks on Social Media

Washington.- The American actor Jamie Foxx apologized for a publication on social networks in which he blamed the Jews for the death of Jesus Christ and that he deleted after an avalanche of critics who accused him of being an anti-Semite.

“I want to apologize to the Jewish community and to anyone who has been offended. The words I used offended and I’m sorry. It was never my intention,” Foxx said in a text posted on Instagram.

The actor added that he has “love for the whole world” and that he loves and supports “the Jewish community.”

Foxx posted this comment after deleting another post in which he said: “They killed this guy named Jesus… What do you expect them to do to them?”

Actress Jennifer Aniston, who had “liked” Foxx’s comment, clarified on social media that she rejects anti-Semitism and “hate of any kind.”

Holding Jews responsible for the murder of Jesus Christ is a form of anti-Semitism used for hundreds of years and one that even the Catholic Church has rejected.

At 55 years old and having participated in more than 80 titles throughout his career, Foxx is one of the best-known faces in the Hollywood industry, having worked in films such as “Collateral” (2004), “Django Unchained” (Django Unchained, 2012) or “Dreamgirls” (2006).
