James Webb’s New Frame: Seen ‘Hourglass’

The US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has shared the latest image captured by the James Webb Space Telescope.

James Webb recorded an image of a dark cloud called L1527 and light emanating from a protostar at its center. James Webb captured an image of a glowing cosmic hourglass filled with vibrant colors.

L1527 is about 460 light-years from Earth and 0.3 light-years across. It has a protostar at its center. Young stars that are still forming are called protostars.

The light emitted by the relatively young protostar, about 100,000 years old, is called an hourglass because of its shape.
