James Pearce hails Liverpool’s ‘extraordinary’ consistency – SpySports Sports & Football News

James Pearce praised Liverpool’s “extraordinary” consistency after the Reds clinched their fifth consecutive win against in-form Newcastle United.

Eddie Howe’s side had won their last four games and were unbeaten at home so far in 2022 – until Naby Keita scored the only goal of the game to secure the side’s return. Jurgen Klopp in Merseyside with the three points.

Liverpool climbed to the top of the table for a few hours with the win, only for Manchester City to beat Leeds at Elland Road late in the day to reclaim their place at the top.

After the game, Pearce, who covers Liverpool for The Athletic, took to his Twitter account to praise the “relentless” Reds.

“The quick turnaround against in-form opponents. This is a big win for #LFC. The consistency of this team is exceptional. Absolutely relentless” he wrote.

It seems unlikely City will drop more points this season but we have to be ready should they do.

Only one point separates us from Pep Guardiola’s side, so we just have to keep doing what we’re doing and see how much silver we have at the end of the season.
