“James Gunn’s Final Marvel Film: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, with Over 600 Versions for Theaters Worldwide”

The end of the galactic journey is just around the corner. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 It will mean goodbye to the craziest group in the Marvel universe. James Gunn has directed what is his latest film for the UCMbut he wanted to make sure that his final work can be enjoyed everywhere.

As revealed from Hollywood Reporter, Gunn has taken care to create more than 600 different versions for the film and that it can be adjusted to as many theaters as possible. “It’s without a doubt the most complex release Marvel has ever done,” explains Evan Jacobs, Disney’s head of post-production.

Normally a film with variable aspect ratios shows 45 minutes at 1.85 and the rest is framed in 2.39 format, which is framed in some traditional cinemas and Dolby Cinema rooms. The filmmaker had this aspect in mind and “designed, shot and framed [con esto en mente]. That was his creative intention”, relates Jacobs. “The aspect ratio is something that James has really enjoyed as part of the storytelling process,” clarifies the person in charge, who points out that we will have an Imax 1.90 version for conditioned rooms. “Marvel has become almost a legend in the post-production community for pushing hard on deadlines and waiting until the last minute to make the movie the best it can be. [Pero] the movie was pretty solid. (…) We didn’t have to chase a lot of crazy things, and the visual effects landed in a rational way. It would have been more difficult, frankly, to fit this kind of creative vision into a different delivery schedule. But we had time and we were able to make it work.”
