James Corden was briefly banned from the New York restaurant

A New York restaurateur briefly banned comedian James Corden after claiming the night host was “extremely mean” to his staff on two separate occasions.

In an Instagram post Monday, Keith McNally said he gave Corden an “86” as a customer, meaning he was no longer welcome at his restaurant, Balthazar.

“James Corden is an extremely gifted actor, but a bit of an idiot man. And he’s the most offensive client of my Balthazar servers since the restaurant opened 25 years ago, ”McNally said in an Instagram post.

Corden has since apologized to the restaurateur, McNally wrote in a lighthearted follow-up post.

“So if James Corden allows me to host his Late Late Show for 9 months, I will immediately lift his ban on Balthazar,” he said. “No of course not. But… anyone who is magnanimous enough to apologize to a slacker like me (and my staff) doesn’t deserve to be banned anywhere. Balthazar especially. So back to 5 & Dime, Jimmy Corden, Jimmy Corden. Everything is forgiven ”.

CTVNews.ca has not yet heard from Corden representatives to comment on the allegations.

McNally first wrote on Instagram that Corden visited the restaurant in June where he was “extremely mean” to the staff after finding a hair in the food. McNally preceded the post of him saying, “although he is devilish, it happens very occasionally in all restaurants”.

“Corden was extremely mean to (manager) G and said, ‘Give us another round of drinks this second and take care of all our drinks so far too. That way I [won’t] writing bad reviews in yelps or something, ”says McNally.

When Corden last visited on October 9, McNally said the comedian sent back his wife’s egg yolk omelette after finding remnants of egg white there. The staff mistakenly made up the plate with fries instead of salad, after which McNally claimed that Corden started screaming.

“You can’t do your job! You can’t do your job! Maybe I should go to the kitchen and cook the omelette myself! ”McNally wrote.

The manager apologized to Corden and offered champagne to his table.

Corden has yet to publicly respond to McNally’s claims.
