YouTube influencer and makeup artist, James Charles, has denied an accusation of making “grooming” (pedophile deception) to a 16 year old fan. Charles claims that he asked the alleged victim her age and whate the person claimed he was 18 years old.
Charles’s comments were in response to a video that went viral on social media platforms, including Twitter. The video showed a boy who accused Charles of sending him explicit messages and pictures.
In the video, the accuser claimed that 21-year-old James Charles sent him Inappropriate messages and pictures on Snapchat.
He claimed that he started chatting with Charles because he admired him and was excited to receive a message from him. The accuser claimed that I understood that the conversation was a talk between a fan and an influencer. He posted screenshots of his alleged conversation with Charles that he claimed were inappropriate.
James Charles defends himself from libel
James Charles took to Twitter on Friday to respond to the accusation of “grooming”. The youtuber said he started flirting with the accuser only after he asked his age and said he was 18 years old.
He went on to say that he was so excited to meet the fan that did not ask for a copy of your ID or passport to confirm your age.

Charles said later began to suspect that the person had not told the truth about his age, so he asked him again to confirm his age and this time he admitted he was 16.
“I told him I was really uncomfortable and I apologized for flirting, but he insisted on talking, saying it could be our little secret, that he’s a fan of mine and that he would never tell anyone, “wrote Charles.
James Charles confessed that he told the person that he did not agree with the suggestion and when he saw that the person was upset, got rid of their friendship.
“I am not the victim blaming him or victimizing myself, just sharing what happened and what happened was not right,” Charles wrote in his Twitter statement.
Said it was not the first time he had been the subject of similar accusations and that he would never knowingly associate with an underage fan. Charles said that going forward, he will always require people who contact him to show their identification to prove their age.
The latest incident occurs after James Charles’ Twitter account was allegedly hacked in August 2019.
