James Anderson Breaks Into Test Cricket’s 700-Wicket Club as First Pace Bowler, Surpassing Spin Legend

A 41-year-old outswinger has broken into Test cricket’s 700-wicket club with only spin balls handled. English legend James Anderson now owns the record of being the first pace bowler to take 700 wickets in Test cricket career.

Yesterday in the 124th over of the Indian innings, Anderson took Kuldeep Yadav in the hands of keeper Ben Fox and wrote the 700th wicket in his record book. Anderson’s feat comes from 187 Test matches. Only Shane Warne (708 wickets) and Muttiah Muralitharan (800) are ahead of Anderson in the list of wicket takers in Test cricket.
