Jamaican Native Shot to Death After Fight With Couple in Bronx – NBC New York

Police are searching for the man suspected of shooting and killing a 26-year-old Jamaican man in the Bronx, two senior New York City Police officials said.

The officers responded to Holland Avenue for a 9-1-1 call about shooting Friday afternoon in the Williamsbridge section.

Stephen Stuart, 26, was found with a gunshot wound, according to officials. He was rushed to Jacobi Hospital, where he later died.

According to police sources, the victim had been at a Dunkin Donuts when he got into an argument with a woman who accused him of standing too close and “disrespecting” her.

Stuart and a friend decided to leave the store, but the woman located them near Holland Avenue and East 212th Street, top officials said. Shortly afterward, investigators believe the woman’s boyfriend allegedly arrived and shot Stuart.

Police have not announced any arrests in the shooting, nor have any descriptions of the suspect been released.

Sources said the victim had only been in town for a few months and had been sending money home to family in Jamaica.
