We had a really good entry into the match. It was a great start. We carried the things we honed in training into the match. We had energy, we were fast and strong in fights. In addition, we played great team hockey. So the first half of the match.

Why didn’t the other one succeed?

Somehow we stopped fulfilling our game plan. Even so, we were able to score two more nice goals and the end result is positive for the team. There is a good mood in the dressing room.

What did you say about Patrik Zdráhal’s 5-0 goal, which fell after a wonderful individual action?

Not only he scored a nice goal, but also those from Klapka or Holas (Holík) were beautiful. I also liked our powerlifters, which we focused on in training this week than last. The black man scored in it. In fact, I would find a lot of positives in our game. We are still in the process leading to Tampere (the venue of this year’s World Cup). But on Friday we would like to do some things better in our game.

Did you know that this was the jubilee 2000th match in the history of the Czech and Czechoslovak national team?

I heard it, Martin (assistant coach Erat) told me it was a special day for Czech hockey. And to experience the 2000th match and win it is obviously emotional for me as well.

Almost four thousand fans arrived in Chomutov. Did you like the atmosphere at the stadium?
–
I have a great feeling. The fans were great, they supported us beautifully.

And after Znojmo you could get to know the atmosphere in another Czech winter.

There is a lot of traveling, but at least I know a lot of Czech cities (laughs). But no, I don’t mind traveling. I understand that the national team has to play in different places to be able to see as many spectators as possible.
