The vaccination brigades against COVID-19 coordinated by the Jalisco Health Secretariat (SSJ) have already visited 40 schools in the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area (AMG) and six in the municipality of La Barca, completing schemes for girls and boys aged 5 to 11 years.
During the past week, in these special days that are carried out in previously selected schools, 2,297 doses of the biological were applied, with which to date there are already more than 9,500 minors immunized in their educational center, where Parents or guardians summoned attend at an established time.
From February 21 to 24, the brigades will continue to visit schools in the municipalities of Guadalajara, Zapopan, Tlajomulco, Tlaquepaque, Tonalá in the AMG and La Barca in the Ciénega Region, with the aim of bringing the biological closer to families so that they can complete the two doses of vaccine required so that girls or boys are protected, reducing the risk of complications from coronavirus infection.
The strategy has been successful thanks to the coordination and support of the Ministry of Education (SE), the directors and teachers of the selected schools and the vaccinating brigade members. It is through the schools that prior notice is given to fathers, mothers and guardians so that they can take their daughters and sons on the day and at the indicated time.
Also Vaccines against COVID-19 are available in health centers in the 125 municipalities of Jalisco, for the school community that does not belong to the educational centers selected in these special days.
For girls and boys from 5 to 11 years old, the complete vaccination schedule against COVID-19 is two doses (with an interval of at least 21 days). Currently, throughout the state, only the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine is being administered, in its pediatric presentation. In health centers nor appointment required.
It should be reiterated that the vaccination strategy is defined by the federal government and that to date there are no open days for any other age group.
