As part of a tour in Silicon Valley, the elected governor of Jalisco, Pablo Lemus, announced an agreement with Google to equip 7,200 schools in the entity with cutting-edge technology, impacting the education of preschool, primary and secondary students. This project includes the distribution of technological packages in the 125 municipalities of the state and, according to the agreement, each package will have approximately 40 laptops, 15 tablets and touch screens, with educational content provided by Google.
“We are going to educate the children of Jalisco in science, innovation, technology, mathematics, environmental care and ethics, linking technology with education,” Lemus declared during the tour, underscoring the state’s commitment to integrating digital learning. to their educational system.
Collaboration with Oracle and other large technology companies
In addition to Google, the tour of the governor and Jalisco officials included meetings with representatives of Oracle, whose global innovation headquarters in Zapopan has a staff of more than 2,500 workers and has managed to obtain more than 30 patents. The company also implements its Oracle Academy educational program in more than 250 institutions in Jalisco, offering learning tools in advanced technology.
The tour concluded with an announcement of investment in the state of approximately $890 million and the creation of 11,500 jobs in the technology sector, according to the governor.
Intel: a strategic alliance for the development of “work mind”
Another important agreement was reached with the company Intel, which has been operating in Guadalajara for 24 years. Lemus highlighted that this collaboration will continue to promote the development of technology talent in Jalisco. “Here we are not talking about labor, but about the mind of labor,” he stated, highlighting Intel’s key role in the generation of knowledge and in the consolidation of Guadalajara as a technological hub with global reach.
