GUADALAJARA, Jal., February 20, 2023.- During epidemiological week 07, which was from February 12 to 18, 1,038 new confirmed cases of Covid 19 were registered, which were 245 fewer cases than the previous week, for an accumulated of 704 thousand 413 infected people; as well as 11 deaths from this disease, with a cumulative of 19,957 reported deaths from this cause.
The vaccination brigades coordinated by the Jalisco Ministry of Health have already visited 40 schools in the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area and six in the municipality of La Barca, completing schemes for girls and boys from 5 to 11 years of age.
During the past week, in these special days that are carried out in previously selected schools, 2,297 doses of the biological were applied, with which to date there are already more than 9,500 minors immunized in their educational center, where the parents or guardians summoned go at an established time.
From February 21 to 24, the brigades will continue to visit schools in the municipalities of Guadalajara, Zapopan, Tlajomulco, Tlaquepaque, Tonalá and La Barca in the Ciénega Region, with the aim of bringing the biological closer to families so that they can complete the two doses of vaccine that are required for girls or boys to be protected, reducing risks of complications from coronavirus infection.
There are also vaccines against Covid 19 in health centers in the 125 municipalities of Jalisco, for the school community that does not belong to the educational centers selected in these special days.
For girls and boys from 5 to 11 years old, the full vaccination schedule is two doses with an interval of at least 21 days. Currently, throughout the state, only the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine is being administered, in its pediatric presentation. In health centers no appointment is required.
In the entity, from February 13 to 17, two thousand 297 vaccines against Covid 19 were applied to girls and boys.
