The former youth representative of Slovakia has to look for a new place of work after the bitter end in the Czech Jablonec. There are several Czech clubs in the game for Jakub Považanc, but his return to Slovakia is not ruled out either, where his name is associated with his hometown Banská Bystrica and Spartak Trnava.
news-item-description">Slovak footballer Jakub Považanec is one of the icons of the Czech club FK Jablonec nad Nisou. He has been wearing his jersey since 2017 and started the current year as captain. However, after a rough argument with coach Radoslav Látal after the weekend match with Sparta Prague (1:5), he will no longer continue at the club.
It came like a bolt from the blue. Slovak defensive midfielder Jakub A gentleman ended up in a Czech club FK Jablonec, for which he played this season with the captain’s armband. After a big loss against champion Sparta Prague (1:5), his almost seven-year story by the river Nisa comes to an end.

An unpleasant surprise that no one expected
According to the Czech portal inFotbal.cz the 32-year-old football player had to get into a sharp exchange of views with the coach of Jablonec Radoslav Látal and soon came the end of the Slovak player in this club. President of the “white-green” Miroslav Pelta should have given Považanac permission to find a new club. Jakub Považanc’s mission in Jablonec ended after more than 230 games for this club.
“It’s definitely not an ideal situation. Moreover, when we consider that he basically just recently extended his contract with the club for another year. It’s not pleasant for anyone, but on the other hand, we’re trying to approach this whole situation pragmatically,” Považanc’s agent explained to ŠPORT.sk David Zika from Global Sports.
“Kubo has an opportunity to move somewhere else. We take it professionally and try to find him the best possible club. However, I have to admit that it was a surprise for all of us and no one expected something like this.” admits Zíka the younger.

Strong interest from the Czech Republic, but Slovakia is not ruled out either
Currently, Považanec is on a “free leg”, but he has permission to continue training with the Jablonec team until he finds something else. So the player is in the full training process, he just lacks game practice. However, that could soon change.
His next destination is questionable for now, but thanks to his reliable performances from previous seasons, he is already enjoying several offers. Even returning to Slovakia after nine years is not ruled out.
“At this time, we are working to find something for Jakub within this transfer deadline. The fact is that Kubo has built up a good name in the Czech Republic and we are already registering a stronger interest in his services within the Czech league,” Zika talked to himself.
“We can talk about some three or four clubs that have shown interest, but everything depends only on his decision. There is also a variant that he would return to Banská Bystrica after years. So, on the one hand, he has the opportunity to stay in the Czech Republic, where he has built a great name, and the other alternative is either to return home to Slovakia, or to go abroad, from where we are also registering interest,” he revealed.

Return under Urpín after 9 years? Spartak Trnava is also in the game
Považanec headed to the Czech Republic in 2014 from Dukla Banská Bystrica when he agreed with Dukla Praha. Since 2017, he has been a player of Jablonec continuously. “I already talked to him about it in the past and he said that he could imagine returning to Banská Bystrica, but now the question is whether he will decide on this step now or later. It will, of course, depend on him,” repeated David Zíka.

Offers come from clubs from the middle of the table of the Czech Fortuna League. According to our information, teams such as, for example, should be among the interested parties České Budějovice, Slovan Liberec or Bohemians Prague. In addition to continuing beyond the Morava River, or returning to Slovakia, where a connection with Spartak TrnavaJakub Považanec could head to Poland, Hungary, Cyprus, Greece and even Turkey, for example.
Považan’s agent David Zíka only added that “it’s all open, but we currently register the greatest interest mainly from the Czech Republic.”
