“TTT Rīga has agreed an open contract with Latvian national team defender Jākobson.
In the previous season, Jákobsone played in the Turkish championship team “Emlak Konut” Istanbul. She averaged 5.8 points, 2.9 assists and 1.8 rebounds in 20.6 minutes per game. In the European Cup, she averaged nine points, 3.5 assists and 2.8 rebounds in 26 minutes in six games.
The basketball player spent the summer in the Halcones team of the Mexican National Professional Basketball League (LNBP), playing in Mexico for the third time. In 2022 and 2023, she represented the “Panthers” of Aguascalientes, but after the games in Mexico in the summer of 2023, Jákobson also managed to play for the Paraguayan team “Felix Perez Cardozo” of Asuncion.
The club reminds that Jākobsone made her debut in “TTT Riga” in October 2012, playing in the club for three seasons. In 2014, under the guidance of the coach Aigars Neripa, she became the champion of Latvia and the winner of the Latvian-Estonian league.
The defense returned to the club in 2020, playing one season under the management of Mārtiņš Gulbjas and debuting in the Euroleague.
At the beginning of 2023, Jākobsone won the Israel Cup in the ranks of Ashdod “Maccabi”, but after the team exited the European Cup, she joined the Riga team for the third time, helping ” TTT Riga” to win the Baltic League.
Before that, the 30-year-old basketball player has also played in Cēsis and Liepāja teams in Latvia, and in foreign countries – in German clubs “Freiburg” and “Rutronik Stars” from Keltern, as well as ” Beşiktaş” from Istanbul.
