Over 240 girls and boys in the U13, U16 and U19 age groups spent an extremely eventful day on Saturday, April 6th, 2024 at the Jakob Johnson Youth Camp 2024 powered by Stuttgart Surge. The camp took place in summer temperatures on the grounds of the Stuttgart Police Sports Club.

After receiving their camp jerseys and goodie bags, the football-loving kids were welcomed to the field at 10 a.m. by Jakob Johnson and Surge Head Coach Jordan Neuman. After subsequent group photos, the children were guided through the day by their coaches on two sports fields with the help of various sessions and drills. The football expertise that day was very high and diverse: Jakob Johnson and Jordan Neuman were supported by the Surge coaching staff and many Surge players such as Louis Geyer, Chris Ezeala and Maleka Mbala, among others. In addition, numerous well-known faces from the football world were present: ProSieben presenter Christoph “Icke” Dommisch, RTL expert and football player Mona Stevens, football expert and surge defense assistant coach Nadine Nurasyid, and some NFL professionals such as Marcel Dabo (Indianapolis Colts), Dominik Eberle (most recently Detroit Lions) and David Bada (most recently Washington Commanders).

The approximately 500 spectators who attended the youth camp were not only able to observe the high talent of the young people, which was demonstrated in numerous exercises and challenges. At 11:30 a.m. Jakob Johnson, the Stuttgart Scorpions and the Stuttgart Surge invited people to a joint press conference, where the future cooperation between the two clubs was announced to the applause of the guests. In the afternoon there was also a neighborly visit: VfB Stuttgart came to the camp in the person of ex-goalkeeper Timo Hildebrand and the mascot Fritzle and exchanged jerseys with Surge GM Suni Musa and HC Jordan Neuman.

The third Jakob Johnson Youth Camp, the second of which was powered by Stuttgart Surge, was a complete success. After the award ceremony with numerous awards, certificates and medals, not only the kids were beaming, but also Jakob Johnson himself:

We are very happy with the camp! Our goal is to get better every year and teach the kids even more. We definitely achieved that today. There is so much talent and potential here that we need to continue to promote!

Jordan Neuman was also very satisfied with this year’s Youth Camp:

You can definitely tell that we are now organizing the camp for the second year. More kids have come, the organization, the sport, the weather, everything is just right today. Our goal is to get the kids moving and having fun. We definitely achieved that today.

Nadine Nurasyid was also enthusiastic and summarized the entire camp as follows:

So many kids, so many football players – and everyone is really keen to get better and in the best weather! What’s better in football than a camp like this? Everyone is together and everyone is having fun!

Lots of action, fun and sunshine at the Jakob Johnson Youth Camp 2024!
