Here are three shows worth checking out in the Bay Area this weekend:
Jake Shimabukuro
As a musician you know you’re doing something right and people often compare you to one of the greatest artists of all time. So yeah, we would definitely say that Jake Shimabukuro – widely known as „der Jimi Hendrix der Ukulele“ – definitely worth a visit when he performs at the SFJAZZ Center in San Francisco November 21-24. Show times are November 21st to 23rd at 7:30 p.m. and November 24th at 3:00 p.m. Tickets start at $35, sfjazz.org.
Tracy Bonham
The Grammy-nominated indie music band Something cool is happening at the Catherine Clark Gallery in San Francisco. The “Mother Mother” singer, who will release a new album in 2025, will perform an hour-long set in an intimate venue with bassist Rene Hart, violinist Ani Bukujian and cellist Saul Richmond-Rakerd, and will take part in a talks with the acclaimed Artist Julie Heffernan, who is currently the focus of a painting exhibition at the gallery. The show starts at 8:30 p.m. and tickets are $100, cclarkgallery.com.
Toby Mac
Grammy Award-winning singer TobyMacwhose best-known numbers include “Gone,” “Made to Love” and “Lose My Soul,” is headlining a massive Christian music show at the Oakland Arena on Nov. 23. The other two incredibly popular artists on the project are MercyMe and Zach Williams. The show starts at 7 p.m. and tickets start at $31, wakingevents.com.
