In the video, Paul talks about a boxing match he recently lost, which he says has given him a difficult period.
“I have a new girlfriend. It’s so refreshing. She’s a world champion and I’m very impressed with her work ethic and the fact that she’s an angel. Her heart is the purest of all the people I know.”
“She is so sincere”, he continues a little later when it comes to the lost boxing match. “She changed my perspective. She helped me get out of this loss, when I was in a dark place. She was there and spoke of her defeats. What I went through was relatable to her. She is a blessing.”
At the beginning of this month, 24-year-old Leerdam and 26-year-old Paul confirmed their relationship, after they had been seen together in photos several times.
Leerdam was previously together with former skater Koen Verweij. The sprint world champion announced in August last year that their relationship had come to an end after five years.
Paul is regularly referred to as a ‘bad boy’ in American media. He has been linked to scams, was involved in looting in Arizona and has been accused of sexual misconduct by two women.
