DKI Provincial Government Jakarta plans to divide two office hours into 08.00 WIB and 10.00 WIB. Acting (Pj) Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono said the plan was one of the solutions to deal with the increasing congestion in the Capital City.
This discourse was conveyed when Heru opened the Congestion Management Forum Group Discussion (FGD) in DKI Jakarta Province, Thursday (6/7/2023).
“I take this opportunity to explain a number of solutions to congestion that can be taken, including the proposed division of employee entry hours in Jakarta to 08.00 and 10.00,” he said in an Instagram upload @herubudihartono, quoted again Saturday (8/7/2023).
Even so, he is open to input and other ideas that will go into dealing with traffic jams in Jakarta. “Various ideas and input to evaluation of existing policies were also discussed together,” he continued.
Responding to this, the Indonesian Employers’ Association (Apindo) hopes that the policy will be divided into two office hours, later it will only be a suggestion or not mandatory.
“Our proposal is in the form of an appeal, in its implementation the entrepreneur adjusts the character of his work,” Apindo chairman Shinta Widjaja Kamdani told detikcom.
According to the Sintesa Group CEO, currently there are still many office sectors that are very dependent on operating hours, such as banking and companies related to the capital market. For this reason, he suggested that the DKI Provincial Government’s plan be only an appeal.
“Currently, many companies are implementing flexible working time or are still implementing work from home arrangements,” he said.
When asked whether the two-hour office policy affected the company’s operations and business, Shina could not say for sure because the types of company businesses were very diverse.
“Depending on the type of business. We cannot be equal,” he said.
