Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan decided to pull the emergency brake to re-enact large-scale social restrictions (PSBB). Secretary of the Golkar Faction DPRD DKI Jakarta, Judistira Hermawan said that this decision was not the right step to control the spread of the Corona virus.
“The implementation of the PSBB which was decided by the Governor will take effect as of next Monday, we think it is not the right step to control the spread of COVID-19, which of course must be in line with the productive spirit but safe from COVID,” Judistira said when contacted, Thursday (10/9/2020 ).
Judistira asked the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government not only to do a lot of Corona tests. Meanwhile, the DKI Provincial Government cannot anticipate a surge in the number of positive cases.
“Don’t just do as much testing as possible. But we are not ready to handle the spike in the positive number of COVID so that it can be controlled,” he said.
Furthermore, Judistira questioned the condition of COVID-19 patients who are undergoing independent isolation whether their basic needs are met or not. According to him, the DKI Provincial Government does not supervise this matter.
“There are many things that are inconsistent, especially in terms of monitoring the health protocols from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government during the PSBB transition period, one example of how to handle and pay attention to residents who are known to be exposed from the results of the swab, whether monitoring is carried out while they are independently isolated, what are their basic needs in mind while he is In isolation, I found that there was neither supervision nor attention from the government, this is what ultimately created new clusters of the spread of COVID-19, “said Judistira.
To suppress the spread of the Corona virus, Golkar asked the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to always carry out supervision and education to the public. In particular, socialization about 3M, wearing masks, washing hands with soap or hand sanitizer and maintaining distance.
“We ask the Governor and the ranks of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to focus on monitoring and educating the public about the importance of 3M to settlements, conveying that the community is at the forefront of preventing COVID-19, medical personnel to cemetery officers are the last guard,” added Judistira.
