Jakarta –
Investment in the property sector has been the prima donna so far. Because this investment is considered to provide a large profit.
However, this does not apply to Deputy Main Director of PT TBS Energi Utama Tbk (TOBA) Pandu Patria Sjahrir. Pandu himself has also served as President Commissioner of the SEA Group and owns a venture capital company.
“I don’t like buying houses, sorry, those in the real estate business, don’t be angry with me, ok,” he said as quoted from his Instagram, Sunday (6/8/2023).

Pandu said that houses in Indonesia are too expensive. Meanwhile, income from property is very low.
Therefore, he prefers stocks that offer dividends of 5-10%.
“Land 1-2%, if for example buying an apartment maximum 3%,” he said.
According to him, old people taught them to buy land because it used to offer 8-10% returns. Then, a down payment (DP) of 2 years. So, the money is quickly returned.
“Now it’s not like that, what’s happening is that rents are getting higher, but the price of housing appreciation isn’t even there,” he said.
