Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan stalled in the semifinals Arctic Open 2023. Thus, Indonesia has no more representatives left.
Ahsan/Hendra succumbed to Kim Astrup/Anders Skaarup Rasmussen. Competing at the Vantaa Energia Arena, Finland, Saturday (14/10) evening WIB, Ahsan/Hendra lost 19-21, 12-21 to the Danish doubles.
Ahsan/Hendra started the first game well after winning 6-1. However, Astrup/Rasmussen are slowly catching up. Two consecutive mistakes from The Daddies made them fall behind 8-10.
After the interval, Ahsan/Hendra continued to be in a chasing position. Having been trailing by three points, Ahsan/Hendra were able to equalize the score at 17-17 and 19-19.
Astrup/Rasmussen appeared to press which gave them game points. The first game finally belonged to Astrup/Rasmussen after Hendra’s return came out.
At the start of the second game, Ahsan/Hendra made several mistakes of their own which left them behind 1-5. Even though they were close to 6-7, Ahsan/Hendra ended up trailing 7-11 at the interval.
Ahsan/Hendra fell further behind after the interval. The gap had widened to seven points at 8-15. In the end they couldn’t stop Astrup/Rasmussen and lost 12-21 in the second game.
