A subsidiary of PT Pertamina (Persero), PT Pertamina International Shipping and PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) (Pelindo) agreed to work together to build an environmentally friendly energy terminal called the Jakarta Integrated Green Terminal (JIGT). This terminal will be built in the middle of the sea, in the area developed by Pelindo to be precise.
Deputy BUMN Minister Kartika Wirjoatmodjo revealed that the JIGT terminal will have a capacity of 6.3 million barrels and will become the infrastructure for renewable energy development. This terminal is said to be able to accommodate and distribute not only fossil fuels but also environmentally friendly products.
“In the future where is this going multi product because it covers conventional and green product starting from gasoline, fuel oil which is standard, then goes to biodiesel, LPG, LNG, Ammonia, Used Cooking Oil or UCO, and hydrogen fuel which will be built in a modular way,” he said in his remarks at the BRILiaN Tower, South Jakarta, Friday (1/9/2023).
“So this is going to be terminal green which product green and managed in a green manner and is expected to become flagship for Pertamina and Pelindo,” continued the man who is familiarly called Tiko.
Tiko explained that there are several strategic things that will differentiate this terminal from the others. First, this terminal is claimed to be one of the initial solutions to reduce pollution because it can distribute environmentally friendly fuel.
“During the last few days or the last few weeks we have talked a lot about air pollution in Jakarta, of course there is one of the first steps for Pertamina to provide bio-fuels that can reduce emissions in Greater Jakarta,” he said.
Well, this terminal is said to be able to distribute environmentally friendly fuel to the Greater Jakarta area. Then secondly, he hopes that Pelindo’s role in the construction of the terminal will make it a world-class terminal.
“Currently, Pelindo has also entered Indonesia top The 20 best players in the world class. We hope that it will continue to improve and improve as well corporate value from Pelindo in the future,” he said.
