Jakarta Health Service Administers Second Monkey Pox Vaccine to 411 People

JAKARTA – A total of 411 people have been injected with the second vaccine for the monkey pox virus? By DKI Jakarta health service, Saturday 2 December 2023.

Head of the Surveillance, Epidemiology and Immunization Section of the DKI Jakarta Health Service, Ngabila Salama, said that the number of people injected with the vaccine was 411. People had been injected with the second monkey pox vaccine in Jakarta.

“411 people have completed the two-dose Mpox vaccine,” said Ngabila in his statement, Tuesday 2 December 2023.

Ngabila said the first and second dose injections were carried out over a period of four weeks or one month. The second dose of vaccination will begin on November 21 2023. Ngabila emphasized that the DKI Health Office has 1,000 doses of vaccine for 495 people, where recipients will receive two doses in two injections. The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) will also increase the stock of monkey pox vaccine for sufferers.

“According to information from the Minister of Health, currently the Indonesian Ministry of Health is in the process of procuring another 4,500 doses, and there is a plan to grant 2,000 doses from ASEAN,” he said.

DKI Jakarta has recorded 44 cases of monkey pox in Jakarta as of December 1 2023. So far it is known that 26 patients have completed isolation, 16 other patients are still undergoing isolation in hospital.

“All had mild symptoms, all were infected from sexual contact, all men aged 25-50 years,” he said.
