Revision of Presidential Regulation (Perpres) 191 of 2014 is underway. Through this revision, it will be regulated who can buy Special Assignment Fuel Types (JBKP) or Pertalite.
Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arifin Tasrif explained the revision of Presidential Decree 191 to ensure that fuel is right on target. In this way, the fuel is enjoyed by the right people.
Arifin also provided a leak of material for the revision of the regulations. One of them is about the vehicle categories that are allowed to buy diesel and Pertalite.
“Later there will be categories of vehicles which classes can use diesel, which can be Pertalite. Generally those given to diesel are vehicles that transport food, basic commodities, public transportation, so as not to increase the burden on people who need it,” said Arifin Tasrif in Jakarta, quoted Wednesday (13/3/2024).
Arifin also explained that the revision of Presidential Decree 191 aims to provide targeted fuel subsidies, so that the government does not suffer losses. Moreover, so far subsidized fuel has actually been enjoyed by those with middle and upper incomes.
“191 is so that fuel allocation is right on target, everything has to be on target, right? If it’s not, it’s a loss, then it’s a loss for the government and then it will be the one who enjoys the wrong people,” stressed Arifin.
He added that the revision of the regulations was expected to be completed this year.
“The target this year is to have it running, within the next few months. It’s been a year, the draft has been a year,” he said.
