Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Ahmad Riza Patria asked the public not to hold a demo titled ‘Jokowi’s National Action End Game‘, Saturday (24/7). Riza is worried that the action taking to the streets that triggers crowds has the potential to spread the corona virus (Covid-19)
“It needs to be understood, this is now a pandemic period, if there is a demonstration there will be a crowd, if there is a crowd there is interaction, then transmission occurs,” said Riza at Jakarta City Hall, Friday (23/7) night.
Riza doesn’t want the well-intentioned demonstration plan to correct the government’s performance to become a new problem in the midst of the current surge in Covid-19 cases.
The Gerindra Party politician asked the public to comply with a number of government regulations and policies in dealing with the pandemic, including restrictions on community activities during PPKM Level 4.
“PPKM is made by the government solely to ensure the health and safety of citizens,” he said.
Previously, information circulated about Jokowi’s National Action End Game, Saturday (24/7). In an appeal circulating on social media, the march will be held at the State Palace, Jakarta.
The Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus previously also asked the public to prevent crowds and not hold Jokowi’s demonstrations End Game to avoid clusters of Covid-19 transmission.
Yusri said that currently positive cases of Covid-19 are still high. He also asked all parties to see the condition of hospitals and public cemeteries that were already full.
“We can wisely avoid crowds so that they don’t become clusters again. How can we relax if there are more crowd activities. It’s a pity that hospitals, cemeteries, are full,” said Yusri at Polda Metro Jaya, Friday (23/7).
