PT Nusantara Sejahtera Raya Tbk or Cinema XXI recorded sales of food and beverage products selling well. Food sales at the cinema increased by almost 30%.
Director of Cinema XXI, Arif Suherman, noted that revenue from the food and beverage product business line in 2023 will be IDR 3 trillion. This business line’s revenue grew 29.3% compared to the same period in 2022, namely 2022.
Apart from that, Arif explained that the increase in food and beverage business products was also reflected in gross box office (GBO) revenue which increased by 58.3%.
“We are committed to continuing to provide innovative series of quality food and drinks to further complement comfort when watching films at Cinema XXI,” said Arif in his official statement, Saturday (9/3/2024).
Meanwhile, Cinema XXI Main Director Hans Gunadi explained that the food and beverage business line contributed significantly to Cinema XXI’s revenue growth. In 2023, Cinema XXI’s total revenue will be IDR 5.2 trillion or an increase of 18.9% compared to the previous year, namely IDR 4.4 trillion.
“Cinema XXI’s total revenue throughout 2023 will come from the contribution of cinema ticket sales by 60%, food and beverage products by 35.4%, digital platforms by 2%, and advertising by 1.9%,” said Hans.
To further improve services, Hans then explained that Cinema XXI was expanding its two main business lines, namely cinemas and food and beverage products.
Throughout 2023, Cinema XXI will open 18 new locations with an additional 75 screens. Thus, until December 31 2023, the company has 240 cinemas with a total of 1,280 screens in 60 cities/regencies spread throughout Indonesia. Hans said this would encourage an increase in cinema ticket sales to 84.3 million viewers in 2023 or the equivalent of IDR 3.5 trillion GBO.
Apart from that, the company also recorded net profit after tax reaching IDR 742.3 billion or growing 47.1% compared to 2022 with EBITDA of IDR 1.7 trillion.
