Jakarta and OIC Countries Plan Special Meeting in Jeddah to Discuss Palestine Crisis

The Indonesian government continues to communicate with friendly foreign ministers to discuss the situation in Palestine. RI and a number of OIC countries will hold a special meeting in Jeddah.

“The OIC Extraordinary Ministerial Meeting to discuss the situation in Palestine will be held in Jeddah, on October 18 2023,” said a statement from the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Monday (17/10/2023).

Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi said communication between friendly foreign ministers was to raise votes. Indonesia urges immediate steps to be taken to avoid a worse situation in Palestine.

“The Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs continues to communicate with the Foreign Ministers of friendly countries to raise voices so that steps can be taken immediately to avoid a humanitarian catastrophe that is getting worse. Indonesia and a number of OIC countries are proposing to immediately hold a Special Ministerial Meeting,” wrote the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Retno herself will fly to Jeddah from Beijing to attend the meeting.
