Former President of Brazil Jair Bolsonaro reportedly being treated in a US hospital. Bolsonaro has stomach pain, a stab wound during the campaign.
Reported by AFP on Tuesday (10/1/2023), news Bolsonaro Who was rushed to the hospital was confirmed by his wife Michelle Bolsonaro, via an Instagram account. The news came a day after Bolsonaro supporters stormed the seat of power in Brasilia.
Media reports said Bolsonaro had been admitted to an AdventHealth Celebration acute care hospital outside Orlando, Florida, where the former president was traveling to two days before the end of his term on December 31.
Bolsonaro “is under observation in hospital, due to stomach ailments from the excruciating attack he suffered in 2018” during the campaign, Michelle Bolsonaro wrote on Instagram.
Of note, Jair Bolsonaro was stabbed while campaigning for the 2018 election. Public sympathy for Bolsonaro was flowing at that time.
While Bolsonaro recovered quickly, his attacker was sent to a psychiatric hospital after he claimed he was on a “mission from God”.
