Jaimie Vaes has not made a new statement in the case against her ex Lil Kleine. On Wednesday it was announced that the rapper is no longer suspected of attempted aggravated assault. The Public Prosecution Service (OM) would have decided that on the basis of an earlier statement from Vaes.
“No new statement has been made,” says a spokesman for the Public Prosecution Service. “We are the ones prosecuting people, we determine what the suspicion is.”
In addition, it has “always been said” that Jorik Scholten, as the rapper is actually called, is suspected of assault or serious assault, says the spokesperson. “If it turns out that there is information that changes the charge, then that will happen.” The rapper is therefore still suspected of attempted assault.

Lawyer Vaes: ‘Declaration not nuanced later’
Lil Kleine was arrested in February last year after images came out that it seems that he clamps Vaes with her head between a car door. Shortly after the incident, Vaes broke up with Scholten.
Vaes’ lawyer, Kim Beumer, confirmed on Thursday that her client has not made a new statement. “On the basis of the images, the client was heard about this, but also about other incidents,” says Beumer.
“She was then advised to file a report, which advice she followed. She did not nuance her report later. But it is up to the Public Prosecution Service to qualify the facts, which is beyond the declarant’s sphere of influence.”
On Wednesday it was also announced that Vaes himself sent the images of the abuse to gossip vlogger Yvonne Coldeweijer. She said she did this to escape from her relationship.
