J’aime Dijon tested the 4 seasons market, summer version

J’aime Dijon has tested the Departmental Council’s 4-season summer version market for you. A look back at this gourmet and authentic 100% Côte-d’Or event.

The Gardens of Côte-d’Or department hosted last weekend the Market of the 4 seasons summer version. 2 days of celebration where we were able to meet producers and craftsmen of the department. On the program: tasting of their local products and discovery of their know-how.

The artisans of the 100% Côte-d’Or network

  • Little Mountain Farm, outdoor poultry farm, which offers poultry (chicken, guinea fowl, turkeys) raised and slaughtered on site, as well as fresh eggs.
  • Sprig of Nettle, producers, pickers of aromatic and medicinal plants. Brin D’Ortie is an organic farm of production and wild picking of aromatic and medicinal plants in Longecourt-lès-Culêtre, in the heart of Burgundy which aims to make us discover and appreciate authentic, local, beneficial and original flavors, in order to restore the honor of plants and forgotten knowledge.
  • The Diableries, canned (crazy) fruits and vegetables of local origin, vegan, mainly from organic or sustainable agriculture: ideal spreads for the aperitif (carrots, leeks, celery, Indian style, etc.), original chutneys ( rhubarb…), ketchups, turnip hummus, walnut pesto, fairy syrup… Les Diableries is keen to explore the Côte-d’Orient region in order to design products that are vegetarian, original and gourmet. The result: appetizer spreads, dessert creams, gazpachos, ready-to-eat dishes, syrups, ketchups and condiments, all prepared from ingredients mainly found locally, from our market gardeners, arboriculturists and in our gardens.
  • Alder Saffron, producer of saffron and products derived from saffron (macerate, chutneys, jellies, jams, syrups). Located in Auxonne, this saffron site enjoys a continental-type climate with abundant rain in autumn and spring, cold and rather dry winters and hot and dry summers. It adjoins a pond lined with alders, birches and willows, with a large area of ​​biodiversity. It is surrounded by vegetable crops in organic farming. Safran classified in category 1 vintage. Products certified organic farming.
  • The Devil’s Bakehouse produces organic bread with natural sourdough thanks to “Maurice”, its 3.5-year-old sourdough, which is the real star of this bakery. The manager works on her own in production, but her parents and her husband are a great support on a daily basis. The flour comes directly from the farmers who are around the bakery
  • Auxois bison, Artisanal vinegar factory in Beaune which collects wines to transform them into vinegar using a dynamic method that is very low in pollution for the environment. Before being a vinegar factory, Bisons de l’Auxois is above all a recycling center. Once the vinegars are made, they age in wine barrels and then we flavor them according to trends and seasonality.
  • Organic Meix d’Or, located in Saint-Julien and created in December 2019, production of hops and vegetables to meet the demand of professionals and individuals in the Bourgogne Franche-Comté region. Le Meix d’Or Bio defends peasant agriculture, organic, sustainable and respectful of the ecosystem, engaged in a process of converting plots to organic since September 2020. Distribution of products on the local market of the Bourgogne Franche-Comté region in favoring short circuits and artisanal products.
  • La Ferme du Pontotlocated in Gevrey-Chambertin in the Côte-d’Or department, which offers 100% local products thanks to its free-range chicken farm.
  • Poiseul’s Little Farm, located in the north of the Côte d’Or, in the Châtillonnais. Oxen (castrated males), Brown breed calves (Châtillonnais breed) and lambs grow up on the farm and are fed with cereals from the farm to guarantee you tasty and quality products.
