Regensburg – Kaan Caliskaner saved SSV Jahn Regensburg with a last-minute goal from a successful preparation for the DFB Cup duel with 1. FC Köln.

The Upper Palatinate won 1: 1 (0: 1) against Darmstadt 98 in the 2nd Bundesliga on Saturday. The substitute Caliskaner scored his first goal of the season in the seventh minute of stoppage time.

Tim Skarke had put the guests in the lead (30th). For the Hessians it looked like a successful dress rehearsal for their round of 16 game against Bayern conqueror Holstein Kiel.

The conditions in the Regensburg Jahnstadion were difficult for both teams. Sometimes there was sleet, the bumpy course was difficult to play on. In the table, Jahn (24 points) stayed ahead of Darmstadt (22). The Hessians played more purposefully for a long time. Her goal was exemplary for this: Skarke successfully completed a fast counterattack over four stations. Jahn had chances to head the ball from David Otto (23rd / 41st) and Caliskaner (75th). The substitute attacker also missed from a promising shooting position (86th). In the long stoppage time, the Joker was more successful. A cross from Erik Wekesser pushed Caliskaner into the Darmstadt goal.
