Jaguar will build the 70-year-old C-type in eight new pieces

As with previous creations, Jaguar Classic will use state-of-the-art scanning technology to accurately replicate the original model. This creates eight precisely processed replicas that the owners can personalize. You can choose from, for example, twelve paint colors.

Like the model, the novelty is equipped with a 3.4-liter in-line six-cylinder with an enhanced output of 220 hp with three Weber carburetors. The weight was maintained at the original 965 kilograms.

After the planned completion of the series in 2022, a special race will be organized for all eight continuing cars. The price for this specialty was not announced by the British.

Designed by the late Malcolm Sayer, who later backed legends such as the E-Type, XJ13 and XJS, the C-Type is considered one of Jaguar’s most successful racing cars.

He won his 24-hour debut at Le Mans in 1951 and again two years later. In addition, he achieved success at the Mille Miglia, the 12-hour race in Reims and at various other national and international sporting events.
