“With the E-type Reminder our Classic team wanted to improve on a design that was already almost perfect,” said Lennard Hoornick, Chief Commercial Officer at Jaguar Land Rover. “As the original designers of the E-type we are ideally positioned to bring aesthetic and technical developments that come from decades of experience, skill and passion to the underground. The assignments are special and our collaboration with the famous ones Deakin & Francis jewelers has resulted in a machine that comes as close as possible to rolling a precious metal.”
The project began with the desire of a loyal Jaguar customer from Southeast Asia to build a duo of E-types (convertible coupe) to get two very special reviews of this legendary model. But apparently this was not enough for this customer, who asked to design a special series especially for him.
Excellent materials
And so the special Commemorative series was born, with one car ready inside Green Sign and into the other Black Opalboth renewing the original colors from 1974. The seats are covered with Weir-leder Bridge in Tan which is hand woven and stitched in the Jaguar Classic upholstery workshop – with leather upholstery in Black and Tan. Never before available from Jaguar Classic, these unique tactile knitters combine traditional skills and design inspiration with a contemporary aesthetic.

Special elements adorn the interior, with an anodised aluminum center console featuring a unique engraving of the original plan of an early E-Series I type, sourced from the archives. The plan was previously presented together with the E type in the New York Museum of Modern Art (MOMA). The anodized aluminum center console for its part became a feature of every E type produced by Jaguar Classic.
Gold and silver
As E-type reminder characterized by the art of gold Deakin & Francis which is included in the interior and exterior of each model. The oldest jeweler in England has been creating masterpieces for seven generations since it was founded in 1786.
Each car is decorated with mother-of-pearl details, hard money in 18-carat gold. Above, the patterned logo is finished in silver with mother-of-pearl guilloché and an 18-karat gold Growler icon, while the rear logos are finished in hard enamel silver, a material that also adorns the horn button and gear lever knob.
A bit of modern comfort
However, there is no revolution under the hood, because the cars are driven by one 3.8 petrol enginenow with electronic fuel injection, and a five-speed manual transmission from Jaguar Classic. This combination offers a good compromise between driving pleasure and everyday use.
To make the cars even more suitable for use in the 21stay century, they are equipped with Jaguar Classic hidden Bluetooth radio and a heated windshieldoffering modern comfort while maintaining the character and authenticity of the original model.
