Jaguar Land Rover Unveils Electric Range Rover: First Look and Pre-Registration Now Open

British carmaker JLR (Jaguar Land Rover) is set to unveil an electric Range Rover, the company giving a first look at what to expect from the carmaker’s flagship as it enters the electric era. Although the machine is still in the testing stage, the car manufacturer has already opened pre-registration for those who can’t wait and want to be the first to get an electric Range Rover.

The manufacturer promises that the transition to electricity does not mean that the Range Rover will lose its off-road skills. Company representatives indicate that prototypes of the machine are currently undergoing one of the toughest test programs in the company’s history to ensure that the model’s characteristic features will be preserved even in the electric era.

JLR promises that this will be the quietest Range Rover in history yet, but its performance will be comparable to the current V8 versions. It currently uses a BMW 4.4-liter V8 engine developing 606 horsepower (750Nm).

The new zero-emission Range Rover is built on a new modular platform called MLA (Modular Longitudinal Architecture), but it is also used for versions with an internal combustion engine. The manufacturer makes sure that the machine meets modern standards and will use an 800V battery system, ensuring high charging capacity. We can be almost certain that the electric Range Rover will be available with two electric motors for all-wheel drive. Because what’s a Range Rover without AWD…

The manufacturer has not released any more technical information yet, but we can be relatively sure that the battery capacity will be written in three digits, that is, at least 100kWh and more, to ensure a greater driving distance with a single charge.
