After the introduction of the upgraded XE, XF and F-Pace models, Jaguar comes with an update for E-Pace. While visually the news is not so great, there is a lot under the skin. The main change is the transition from the D8 platform from Ford to a more modern, custom foundation, marked PTA.

In Jaguar, they claim that the use of their own platform will significantly improve the handling, ride and refinement of the updated E-Pace, mainly due to the improved suspension settings. However, a key change, according to JLR, is the expansion of Jaguar’s smallest SUV range.

But the most innovative version of the E-Pace will definitely be a plug-in hybrid. It connects a 1.5-liter three-cylinder petrol engine with an electric motor on the rear axle. It offers a total of 309 horsepower and accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in a respectable 6.1 seconds. It will travel up to 56 kilometers purely on electricity. The PHEV version comes with an eight-speed automatic.

As for the other engines, they are mild-hybrid two-liter petrol engines with outputs of 200, 249 and 300 horsepower. All will be supplied with all-wheel drive and a nine-speed automatic transmission.

The ATV is also redesigned and can disengage the rear axle when its drive is not needed to save fuel. However, the system in the most powerful, three-column variant manages to actively distribute torque not only between the front and rear axles, but also between the individual rear wheels. The carmaker states that it can send up to 100% of the torque to one rear wheel in 0.1 second.

In addition to Jaguar engines, he also worked on the interior, which underwent similar changes as with other updated Jaguar models. There is also a brand new Pivi Pro entertainment system and an HD screen of infotainment with dimensions of 11.4 inches. The cabin also has a head-up display and the car has the latest version of the connection for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

From the outside, however, the Jaguar E-Pace hasn’t changed much. The bumper, radiator grille, front LED headlights and also the rear lights have been redesigned.
