About the current season for Kladno:

“After I went to Pittsburgh last year (to remove number 68 jersey – editor’s note)I decided that I only want to do things that make me happy. And I lost weight. And it is very heavy, I weighed 122 kilos, so it was difficult for me to play it. I wanted to be good, but I was too heavy. I didn’t enjoy playing it. I was afraid I would get hurt because I was just too heavy. So I lost weight. I’m the same weight I was when I played in the NHL. So I’m not tired and I like it a lot more than a few years ago.”

What else motivates him to train and play:

“I’ve been doing it my whole life since I was two, three years old. So it’s like I don’t mind going to the field. It’s me, so if – there is no one, I go. Like when people go to get it, I skate by myself. It just makes me so free and happy there . I don’t know. I didn’t expect to win this. Just like my father, who was a farmer until he died.”

About the opportunity to work for Pittsburgh:

“I’ve already said it in Pittsburgh – I finally know where I’m from. I’ve played on so many teams and I’ve loved every minute of it, but I’ve spent most of my time in Pittsburgh and I feel like I belong there. I’m a Penguin just give the other side feeling advice. Not all players think so.
