▲ On the 18th, Peter Benningk, CEO of ASML, boarded a plane to Amsterdam, the Netherlands after finishing a business trip in Korea, meeting and speaking with a reporter from Seoul on board.

“I am returning to Korea with results exceeding expectations. We will continue to invest in Korea and grow together with Korean companies”.

ASML CEO Peter Wennink, who visited Korea on the 14th and returned to the Netherlands after completing a four-day business trip, met a reporter on the plane bound for Amsterdam on the 18th and said: “The weather that I spent in Korea was very honorable for me personally and for the company, it was an amazing time at the level,” he said.

On the plane that day, CEO Bennink was energetic and showed no signs of fatigue even after a long-distance flight that increased to 14 hours due to a busy schedule in Korea and a detour due to the Russia-Ukraine war. They seemed to be very satisfied with their trip to Korea.

He added the meaning, “The ‘Hwaseong New Campus’ groundbreaking ceremony during this business trip will be an opportunity for ASML to cooperate more closely with major Korean customers and will be the beginning of our future investment in Korea.”

Starting with a press conference in Korea on the 15th, CEO Benningk attended a groundbreaking ceremony for the new campus in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi province on the 16th, and tea with President Yoon Seok-yeol and Dutch entrepreneurs from semiconductors on the 17th, revealing plans for cooperation with Korean companies. Also attending the meeting with President Yoon were Jae-yong Lee, president of Samsung Electronics, a major customer of ASML, and Tae-won Chey, president of SK Group, which has SK Hynix as an affiliate. When asked about specific cooperation plans with Korean semiconductor companies, he said, “Korean companies are leaders in technological innovation in the ever-complex and sophisticated semiconductor industry, so they are customers who have a great influence on us.” to grow together by contributing to innovation.”

As for whether or not to meet with President Lee, which attracted the attention of the industry, he only briefly mentioned that “I was able to meet President Choi of SK during the meeting with President Yoon and had a conversation significant”.

ASML is an equipment company that supplies extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography equipment to global semiconductor companies such as Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, Intel in the United States, and TSMC in Taiwan. It is known as “B(乙)”.
