Jadon Sancho: Manchester United banishment and training controversy with coach Erik ten Hague

Football representative Jadon Sancho is not allowed to train with Manchester United’s first team after criticizing the coach. The club will let him prepare individually until the problem with coach Erik ten Hague is resolved, he announced on his website.

The 23-time English international was surprisingly absent from the nomination for the last league match at Arsenal, which United lost 1-3. After the match, Dutch coach Ten Hag justified the absence of the European vice-champion with poor training morale.

Sancho objected and called himself a scapegoat. According to the media, Ten Hag demands an apology for these words in a lengthy post on the X social network, formerly Twitter. “He is undertaking a personal training program away from the first team,” United’s representatives said without elaborating.

The 23-year-old winger came to Manchester in 2021 for 85 million euros (roughly 2.1 billion crowns at the time) from Dortmund as one of the Bundesliga’s biggest stars. He played 82 games in all competitions for United, scoring 12 goals and failing to live up to the reputation he had when he returned from Germany to England.
