Jadeja with cream on his hand during the game, video viral; India says that there is pain

Nagpur – Controversy over Indian spinner Ravindra Jadeja applying cream on his hand during the first day of the first Test against Australia. Jadeja, who destroyed Australia in the first innings by taking five wickets in the match, has been accused of tampering with the ball. But the Indian team gave an official explanation that the Indian player used a cream to reduce the pain in his hand during the match.

While bowling on Thursday, Ravindra Jadeja was seen taking cream from Mohammad Siraj and applying it on his finger. The video went viral on social media within seconds. BCCI came up with this explanation.

The Indian team informed match referee Andy Pycroft that Jadeja had only used painkillers. The Australian team has not officially raised a complaint against Ravindra Jadeja’s use of cream. After winning the toss and batting in the match, Australia were bowled out for 177 runs in the first innings.

Jadeja returned from injury and took five wickets. Jadeja took the wickets of Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, Matt Renshaw, Peter Handscomb and Todd Murphy. The player who bowled 22 overs conceded only 47 runs.
