American actress Jada Pinkett Smith, also known as the wife of actor Will Smith, has shaved all her locks. No peachesbare across the board. The haircut is said to be a result of hair loss. “It’s time to let go,” the 49-year-old star said on Instagram.

Jada Pinkett Smith never concealed the fact that she has been struggling with hair loss for years. “She has often had a haircut à la Sinéad O’Connor in the past and it is clear from photos from the past that she often opted for wigs,” says BV hairdresser Jochen Vanhoudt.
Now she says she is abandoning aesthetic aids for good. “Willow (her daughter, ed.) convinced me to do this because it’s time to let go. My fifties are going to be divine with this haircut,” she writes with a photo in which she and her daughter stand in front of a flower bush.
The snapshot shows that Willow (20) also has a cropped cut. “Completely bald or a cut with three millimeters of hair makes a lot of difference in terms of look. I personally don’t see really bald cups becoming a trend, peaches are always in fashion. Especially if you bleach the short hairs,” says the hairdresser.
The clippers were also allowed to serve with Iris Law, the 20-year-old model daughter of British actor Jude Law, last week. “A cropped cut looks great in combination with bold make-up and jewelry such as large, feminine earrings,” adds Vanhoudt.
When is it better not to cut ultra short? “Ladies who like to hide a wrinkle here and there, then of course have no hair to hang over and mask.” When is it? “A tight jawline also makes the hairstyle itself look sleeker. And it looks great on people with a fresh face. Jada and Willow as well as Iris have that. Please note: with a bald or minimal haircut, sun protection for the scalp is an absolute must.”
