Valuable, published by People. She spoke about a period in which she fell into deep “despair,” despite her best efforts. She was honest about how despite having a loving family and a relationship with her husband, Will Smith, and her children, she was still battling depression.
He Collateral The actress, 52, admitted she went to great lengths to make it seem like everything was fine as she dealt with her difficulties privately. “For two decades, she had been putting on a brave face, going with the flow, telling everyone she was fine. However, deep down, bouts of depression and overwhelming hopelessness had burned until they became a raging inferno in my broken heart,” she wrote. “The unwanted feelings (of not deserving love) made it harder to understand the disconnect between the so-called perfect life she had achieved and the pit of loss she carried with me.”

The excerpt describes how Jada felt before seeking help and details some of her darkest feelings. She revealed that many of her struggles came to a head when she turned 40. “I would later be diagnosed and informed that she was suffering from complex trauma with PTSD and dissociation, but without this guidance, she was a chronic, unsolvable mess. possibility of healing. Every morning, waking up was like walking on the plank of doom,” she said.
Despite having so many wonderful things, Jada revealed that she was still battling those feelings of depression. “A loving relationship, harmony, peace… that happiness had not yet been delivered,” she wrote at one point in the excerpt.
Jada said that while she was fighting, her children…Jaden, sauce, and stepson trey—were his “only motivation” to continue fighting. She talked about how difficult it was to have the duality of seemingly having it all, but still struggling. “She had a beautiful family, a superstar husband, a luxurious lifestyle, fame and fortune. “I had my own career, the freedom and support to pursue creative outlets,” she wrote.
