Milk and beef cattle producers have substantially improved their production levels through the use of state-of-the-art techniques, including embryo transplants, in vitro fertilization and artificial insemination.
The executive president of the JAD, Osmar Benítez, reported that in yesterday’s meeting, organized by that institution, with the theme: 5 G. E 3 livestock, an innovative vision of national livestock, emphasis was placed on the most recent advances significant in the various reproductive techniques, in charge of the most outstanding specialists in the country and the region.
According to the National Statistics Office and the Ministry of Agriculture, in 2015 in the country 47,916 productive units were dedicated to raising cattle. In addition, the cattle ranching chained to the collection centers and the dairy processors, generates more than 300 thousand direct jobs.
Among the technicians and farmers present are Marcelino Vargas, Ricardo Barceló, Julio de Beras, Luis Martínez, Máximo Peralta, Oscar Villanueva, José Mallén, Alexis Alonso, Alfredo Ríos, René Columna and Juan Ramón Guzmán.
Some of the participants told the story of their progress and asked that this activity be done on the ranchers’ farms so that others can see what they are doing.
