Jacobs rushes as Raiders win – TOUCHDOWN24

In an exciting Week 12 NFL game, the Las Vegas Raiders defeated the Seattle Seahawks 40-34 in overtime. Exceptional: Running back Josh Jacobs.

History book numbers: 229 rushing yards, 74 receiving yards, 303 total scrimmage yards, two touchdowns. Josh Jacobs, running back for the Las Vegas Raiders, is the first player since at least 1950 to rush for 225 yards and catch for 70 yards in one game.

The 24-year-old was just the third player in the Super Bowl era to have 300 scrimmage yards and two touchdowns. Most recently, Adrian Peterson did it in 2007 for the Minnesota Vikings in a 35-17 win over the then San Diego Chargers. The other two players: Stephone Paige (1985) and Priest Holmes (2002), both in action for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Raiders fans remembered 1987 as the 86-yard run to victory in overtime. Back then, Bo Jackson had a 91-yard touchdown run in a Monday night game with the Seattle Seahawks. Jacobs and Jackson are also the only two Raiders players to have rushed for more than 220 yards in a game.

Jacobs’ career only really took off this season under head coach Josh McDaniels. Bitter: The Raiders issued a fifth-year option on their 2019 first pick, making Jacobs a free agent next spring. Jacobs currently leads the rushing yards stat in the NFL. With 1159 yards he is ahead of Derrick Henry (1048 / Tennessee Titans) and Nick Chubb (1039 / Cleveland Browns). With this season, Jacobs is recommended for a senior contract in upcoming free agency.
