In the new Videoland series ‘De Ware Jacob’ we follow Jacob. Last year he participated in ‘B&B Vol Liefde’. Although none of the guests turned out to be a match, there was one fan of the program who liked Jacob: Carla.

Carla took the plunge and sent a message to Jacob six months ago. A little later she traveled to Portugal and she has been living with Jacob there for a while now. The casanova immediately seduced Carla. This is how Carla tells in The True Jacob: “He came to pick me up at the airport. I saw him and I saw his beard and thought: oh, maybe. Then we drove home and he asked: ‘Can we feel for a while?’ He puts his hand on my leg. Then I thought: this doesn’t irritate me, let it go.”

The romance splashed in the early days, but now the love has cooled a bit. “We were very loving for five weeks, but then the foundation started to rattle a bit,” says Jacob. “The problems came from Carla’s insecurity and jealousy.”
Carla also feels less for Jacob. “I came here with a certain image, but I’ve found that it isn’t. Jacob is quite difficult.” Jacob says: “Then we decided to give each other space.” But Carla picks up on that: “Correction. We decided? You decided.” Jacob concludes, “It’s a relationship with ups and downs.”

The two no longer sleep together. Carla has a sick dog that she has to take care of day and night. “Right now we’re more like friends with benefits“, Jacob says candidly. He and Carla try to save their relationship with a romantic picnic, including refined refreshments. “Paprika chips and peanuts,” says Jacob.
“Do you still like Portugal and can you still stick with me?”, he asks Carla. “If I couldn’t stand it, I wouldn’t be there anymore. But somehow something triggers me,” she says. Jacob continues: “The feeling is not like in the first weeks and I think that’s a shame.” To which she replies: “If it could stay that way forever, I think a lot of people would be happy.”

“It has to grow,” she says. “Then you must do your best”, Jacob bites her, “so do I? Then we must both do our best. Let’s see this week whether we can gain more confidence in each other. (…) That we don’t have more resistance.” The date ends with a loving kiss.
Whether the two can rekindle the fire in the relationship remains to be seen. In the upcoming episodes of The True Jacob we need to get an answer to that. You see the reality show every week exclusively at Videoland.
