Actor Jackie Chan addressed fans on Instagram* (the social network belongs to Meta, is recognized as extremist, and is banned in the Russian Federation). He asked his fans not to worry about his physical condition.
The cause for concern was photographs of Chan on the set of the sequel to “The Karate Kid” – the actor was spotted wearing a gray wig and a beard. In honor of his anniversary—Chan turned 70 on April 7—he hastened to reassure his fans.
“I want to take this opportunity to let everyone know: don’t worry! This is just the character’s appearance for my new film. The character should have gray hair, a white beard and look old. Over the years, I’ve always been willing to try something new for film, whether it’s a challenging stunt or a hot appearance. I have been in the entertainment industry for 62 years and cherish every moment as I am lucky to still be acting,” Chan wrote.
The Karate Kid 2 will be released on December 13, 2024. The film also stars Ben Wang, Ralph Macchio, Joshua Jackson and others. The director is Jonathan Entwistle (“The End of the F***ing World”).
In 2022, Chan also talked about a possible fourth installment of the Rush Hour action film. The film never officially went into production.
