Jackie Arklöv is not allowed to move to an open institution

Jackie Arklöv has served a prison sentence for 22 years, after the police murders in Malexander. In his application to be moved to an open institution, he writes that the situation at the current institution is unbearable and suffocating for someone who has served more than 20 years.

However, as Arklöv’s sentence has not yet been fixed and there is a risk of recidivism for him, the Swedish Prison and Probation Service rejects his application.

Had to move closer to the family

In January last year, Jackie Arklöv was granted a transfer to Anstalten Umeå to get closer to her family. In October last year, however, his request for a life sentence was rejected.

In addition to the murder of two police officers, he has been convicted of attempted murder, aggravated robbery in three cases, attempted aggravated robbery and violation of international law.
